Who is this programme for?

This programme is for students aligned to the Financial Sector Charter Code requirements in their final year of study, NCV4 and N6, including students at rural and peri-urban TVET colleges.

Programme objectives

As you move from college into the working world you will realise the importance of money in your everyday life. This programme assists you as you look for a job, earn your first salary, open an account, and communicate with financial institutions.

The main objective of this programme is to equip you with the right knowledge so you can make sound financial decisions from when you first start earning an income, and throughout your life. This is achieved by:

  • improving your awareness of key financial concepts and encouraging good financial decisions and behaviour (especially during Covid-19).
  • encouraging a culture of planning with money as well as saving.
  • assisting you to identify and avoid debt traps.
  • helping you prepare for the world of work by providing both CV and job interview skills.

The programme is based on experiential learning which is the most effective way to grasp new concepts. After each week’s workshop, you can engage with us, as well as the content, through exclusive Facebook, WhatsApp, and SMS groups.

You will have the opportunity to work in groups to create drama productions based on the financial knowledge that you have learned.

You will also have access to webinars, blog posts, panel discussions, and radio interviews to further explore the financial concepts and see how they play out in the real world.
