The ASISA Foundation collaborated with Absa to deliver the third L+EARN campaign targeted at students in their final year of study, NCV4 and N6. The participants were recruited from three Sedibeng College campuses in Gauteng, (Heidelberg, Vanderbijlpark and Sebokeng) and Majuba TVET College from the ITB campus in Newcastle in KwaZulu-Natal.
The programme delivered financial education through facilitated workshops. During the workshops, Facilitators taught the participants about various financial concepts, good financial behaviour and soft skills related to improving one’s employability. Additionally, there is an experiential learning component whereby participants are grouped together to create drama productions that incorporates what they have learned during the programme. The workshops are complimented by auxiliary delivery channels including Social Media (Closed Facebook group and WhatsApp groups) and SMSs that are used to reinforce the content taught during the programme.
